Robotic suit to prevent freezing in Parkinson's

This study tests a robotic suit designed to help prevent freezing of gait (a sudden feeling of being stuck) in people with Parkinson's disease. You'll attend 8 visits to see if the suit can improve your walking and reduce falls.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old.
  • You have Parkinson's disease and experience freezing of gait (feeling stuck while walking).
  • You can walk at least 20 meters on your own (with or without a cane or walker, but no help from another person).
  • You pass a short thinking and memory test (score of 21 or higher on the MoCA).
  • You can understand and follow instructions and are willing to attend 8 research visits.

This study tests a device called cueStim to see if it can help people with Parkinson’s disease who experience freezing of gait (a sudden inability to move their feet). You may be able to join if you are between 60 and 90 years old, take levodopa, and can walk a short distance without help.
