  • You have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of head and neck cancer).
  • Your cancer is stage III or IVa (advanced but not spread to distant organs).
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You are in good enough health to tolerate chemotherapy and radiation (your doctor calls this PS 0-1).
  • Your major organs (heart, liver, kidneys, bone marrow) are working well enough for treatment.
