Who can take part
- You must be in one of three groups: people with POTS, people who recently had a serious infection but not POTS, or healthy volunteers.
- If you have POTS, you need a heart rate jump of 40+ beats per minute within 10 minutes of standing (without blood pressure drop) and symptoms like dizziness when upright.
- If you had a recent infection: you were hospitalized for a respiratory or stomach bug but did not need the ICU.
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding, and must have a smartphone that is less than 5 years old (to run the study app).
- You cannot have other unstable medical conditions or use narcotics.
- You should be comfortable answering questions and following instructions in English.
