Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have a diagnosis of pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare cancer in the abdomen) and be scheduled for cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC (a type of surgery with heated chemotherapy).
- Your doctor must expect that you will lose at least 2 liters of blood during the surgery (based on an early assessment).
- You cannot have a known bleeding or clotting disorder.
- You must not have had a heart attack, stroke, or certain other heart problems in the last 2 months.
- You must not have taken certain blood-thinning medications within a specific time before surgery (like clopidogrel, warfarin, or others).
