Who can take part

  • Your child has a back baby tooth (molar) that needs root canal treatment for a deep cavity with infection.
  • The nerve of the tooth is dead (not alive) and does not respond to hot or cold.
  • Your child has had spontaneous pain that is dull and aching, signs the tooth's nerve has died.
  • The tooth is not already loose (more than mild looseness) and does not have more than two-thirds of its root dissolved.
  • Your child is generally healthy and can cooperate during dental procedures.
  • The tooth has not had root canal treatment before.
