Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 4 and 7 years old.
  • The tooth must be a lower second baby molar that can be restored (filled) and has an infection around the root or in the area where the roots split.
  • The infection must show up as an abscess, a sinus tract (a small tunnel draining pus), or a dark area on an X-ray.
  • Your child must be generally healthy and not have any serious medical conditions.
  • Your child must not have allergies to the materials used in the treatment.
  • The tooth must not be too loose or have too much root damage that would make it better to pull it out.
