Who can take part

  • Your child is between 3 and 10 years old and in good general health.
  • The tooth has a deep cavity that is close to or touching the nerve, but your child has never had spontaneous or constant pain from it.
  • The tooth has at least two-thirds of its root still present (not too loose).
  • X-rays show the cavity is deep but the tooth is not infected or damaged beyond the root.
  • Your child can speak and understand English or French.
