Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 3 and 17 years old.
  • Your child needs to be in good health or have mild to moderate health problems (ASA class 1, 2, or 3).
  • Your child must be scheduled for a specific heart surgery, like closing a hole in the heart or repairing a valve.
  • Your child cannot have taken strong pain medicines (opioids) in the 30 days before surgery.
  • Your child cannot have severe sleep apnea or be taking certain medicines that could interact with the study drug.
