Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with heart failure (either acute, meaning you were hospitalized, or chronic, meaning you see a doctor regularly for it).
  • You are not currently taking medications that suppress your immune system (like steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, or chemotherapy).
  • You have not had a heart attack or recent heart procedure in the last 3 months.
  • You do not have an active infection, cancer, or a blood disorder (like leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome).
  • You are willing to come back for a follow-up visit one year later.
