Heart Failure Risk Test Study (HF-QRS and Fibrosis Markers)

This study looks at whether a special EKG test (HF-QRS) and a blood test for fibrosis can help doctors better predict risks in people with chronic heart failure. If you join, you will help see if these tests work as well as or better than standard tests alone.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 85 years old
  • You must be diagnosed with chronic heart failure by a doctor using standard guidelines
  • You must have current symptoms like shortness of breath or swelling, and signs that your doctor can see on exam
  • A blood test must show a high NT-proBNP level
  • An ultrasound of your heart must show an abnormality of structure or function
  • You cannot have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis, severe lung disease, active cancer, or other serious illnesses that might explain your symptoms
