Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with primary aldosteronism (a condition causing high blood pressure from too much aldosterone).
  • You also have autonomous cortisol secretion (too much cortisol, often seen after a 1 mg dexamethasone suppression test).
  • You are willing to have surgery to remove the affected adrenal gland.
  • Your adrenal CT or MRI scan shows a nodule (lump) that is at least 1 cm in size.
  • You are not under 35 with low potassium, a large nodule, and very high aldosterone levels (which would allow bypassing a more invasive test).
