New PET scan versus blood test for adrenal condition

Who can take part

  • You have hypertension (high blood pressure) and are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have a condition called primary aldosteronism (high aldosterone) along with extra cortisol (autonomous cortisol secretion).
  • A CT or MRI scan shows a growth (adenoma) on one of your adrenal glands.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and consider surgery if needed.
  • You must not have had your adrenal gland removed before or have certain other health issues like active cancer, severe heart failure, or serious kidney or liver problems.
