- You are 22 to 65 years old and have a below-knee amputation from trauma or cancer.
- You cannot use a standard prosthetic leg socket because of problems like skin infections, pain, or a short stump.
- You must be able to get care at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and be eligible for military healthcare (DEERS).
- You are not pregnant, and you do not have conditions like severe diabetes, active infection, or bone disease that affect healing.
