Who can take part
- Your breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body (stage IV) or is locally advanced and cannot be removed by surgery.
- Your cancer cells must have low levels of HER2 protein but not be HER2-positive, and must be hormone receptor-negative (estrogen and progesterone receptors are less than 1% positive).
- You have not had prior treatment for advanced cancer, or if you had previous treatment for early-stage cancer, it's been at least 6 months since it ended.
- You have not had any treatments that target HER2 (like Herceptin or Kadcyla) or immunotherapy for advanced cancer.
- Your overall health is good (ECOG performance status 0 or 1) and you have at least one tumor that can be measured by scans.
- You are willing to provide a sample of your tumor tissue for testing of HER2 and PD-L1 levels.
