Who can take part

  • You must be having a transfer of a genetically normal (euploid) embryo – one that has been tested and shown to have the right number of chromosomes.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) must be under 35. (Ask your clinic if you need help calculating yours.)
  • You cannot have certain untreated uterine problems, such as a malformed uterus, large fibroids, or severe adenomyosis (a condition where the uterine lining grows into the muscle wall).
  • The embryo you transfer must be of at least moderate quality (grade 4BC or better on the Gardner scale). Day-7 embryos are not allowed.
  • You must not have taken any antibiotics in the month before the transfer (except for antibiotics given right after egg retrieval).
