  • You are currently taking aspirin to prevent heart attack, stroke, or other blood vessel problems
  • You do not have active bleeding right now
  • You are not planning major heart, brain, or spine surgery in the next 3 days
  • You are not pregnant
  • You have not taken clopidogrel, prasugrel, or ticagrelor in the past month
  • You are not allergic to clopidogrel and are not taking a blood thinner called an oral Xa inhibitor
