Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 45 years old and pregnant with a single baby (no twins).
  • You became pregnant naturally, without help from fertility treatments.
  • Your TSH level was checked in the first 8 weeks of pregnancy and was between 2.5 and the upper limit of normal.
  • Your free T4 (another thyroid hormone) is normal and you do not have thyroid antibodies (TPOAb-negative).
  • You do not have other thyroid diseases, serious health problems (like high blood pressure or diabetes), or take certain medications that affect thyroid tests.
