Who can take part

  • You are between 4 and 15 years old.
  • You have not been treated with levothyroxine or certain other medications in the last 6 months.
  • Your TSH levels are 4.5 mIU/L or higher, but your other thyroid tests are normal (checked twice, 4 to 6 weeks apart).
  • You do not have any heart problems, overweight/obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, liver/kidney disease, high cholesterol, infections, breathing problems, or cancer.
