Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have had hypothyroidism (from thyroid removal or thyroid failure) for at least 6 months.
  • You are currently taking levothyroxine (T4) at a dose between 75-150 mcg per day and at least 1.2 mcg per kilogram of body weight, and have been on the same dose for at least 3 months.
  • Your TSH level was between 0.5 and 4.0 mU/L in the last 2 months.
  • You have had ongoing hypothyroid symptoms (like fatigue, weight gain, depression) for at least 2 months and scored 5 or more on a symptom questionnaire.
  • You are not using certain medications such as T3, amiodarone, lithium, or biotin, and you have no serious heart problems or uncontrolled psychiatric conditions.
