Who can take part

  • Your baby was born at 32 weeks of pregnancy or earlier
  • Your baby weighed 1600 grams (about 3.5 pounds) or less at birth
  • Your baby was admitted to the newborn intensive care unit within the first 3 days of life
  • Your baby stayed in the NICU for at least 1 day and survived the first 3 days
  • Your baby needs IV lines to receive several medicines or fluids at once
  • You and your family have agreed to let your baby take part in this study
