Who can take part

  • Child is 0–17 years old and in the pediatric or neonatal ICU
  • Has suspected or confirmed bacterial infection and sepsis (Phoenix Sepsis Score 2 or more)
  • Is being treated with a beta-lactam antibiotic such as meropenem, piperacillin/tazobactam, cefepime, or ceftriaxone
  • Is not on palliative care, dialysis, ECMO, or other study drugs
  • Parent or guardian provides written consent
