Who can take part

  • Child is between 6 and 11 years old
  • Child needs their upper jaw widened (maxillary expansion)
  • Child has baby molars or permanent premolars and the first permanent molar already in place
  • No bone growths or irregularities on the roof of the mouth
  • No allergy to materials used in the expander devices
  • No untreated cavities, gum disease, or jaw joint problems
