Who can take part

  • You are between 3 and 18 years old
  • You have a high-grade brain tumor (fast-growing) that can be seen on an MRI scan
  • Your doctors plan to remove as much of the tumor as possible with surgery
  • Your liver and kidneys are working well (based on blood tests)
  • You do not have a history of porphyria (a blood disorder) or severe light sensitivity
  • If you are female and could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test

Sound and drug therapy for recurrent glioblastoma

This trial tests a new approach that combines a drug (SONALA-001 or 5-ALA) with focused ultrasound to treat glioblastoma that has come back or is growing despite standard treatments.
