Who can take part
- You have at least one dental implant with a deep pocket (5mm or more) around it that bleeds or oozes when touched.
- X-rays show the bone around the implant has a crater-like loss of at least 3mm.
- Your mouth is generally clean, with less than 20% of plaque buildup.
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form to participate.
- You are not a smoker who smokes more than 5 cigarettes a day.
- You do not have diabetes, a long-term inflammatory disease, or take strong anti-inflammatory drugs like prednisone.
