Who can take part

  • You have a severe form of gum disease (stage III).
  • You have a specific type of bone loss around a tooth — a defect with two or three walls of bone still present.
  • Your bite (the way your teeth come together) is stable and favorable.
  • You are able to attend follow-up visits as needed.
  • You do not have any medical condition that would make gum surgery risky (like uncontrolled diabetes, weak immune system, or osteoporosis), and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You are not a smoker.
