Who can take part

  • You have advanced liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery or has spread, and you haven't had any previous whole-body treatment for it.
  • You are 18 years or older and have a confirmed diagnosis of liver cancer (either by biopsy or by clinical criteria if you have cirrhosis).
  • You have at least one tumor that hasn't been treated directly and can be measured on scans.
  • You are in good enough health to be up and about (ECOG score 0 or 1) and have good liver function (Child-Pugh class A).
  • If you have hepatitis B, it must be under control with medication, and you must be willing to continue treatment.
  • You must not have serious bleeding problems or untreated varices in your esophagus or stomach.
