- You are between 12 and 21 years old.
- You have pectus excavatum (sunken chest) and are scheduled for the Nuss procedure.
- You have not had pectus surgery before.
- You do not have any other major surgery planned at the same time.
- You can speak and understand English because the surveys are in English.
- You do not have severe developmental or learning problems that would make it hard to participate.
- You do not have serious kidney, liver, heart, or lung conditions, or a history of them.
- You have not had major surgery requiring strong painkillers in the last 2 years.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less.
