Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI)

This study examines how people with spinal cord injury experience their body and sense of self. You will answer questionnaires and may have an MRI scan of your brain while parts of your body are touched, to see how your brain reacts.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 60 years old
  • You are a native German or Italian speaker
  • You have a traumatic spinal cord injury that is at least one year old and located below the upper chest (below T1)
  • You still have some feeling on the front of your upper thighs (at least one leg)
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain other health conditions (like epilepsy, stroke, or a brain injury)
  • You are comfortable with an MRI scanner (no metal implants, pacemaker, or claustrophobia)
