Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with colon cancer or upper rectal cancer (tumor at least 10 cm from the anal opening).
  • Your cancer is locally advanced (stage cT3/T4 or has spread to nearby lymph nodes) but has not spread to distant organs.
  • Your tumor shows signs of being mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) based on a biopsy or genetic test.
  • You do not have an urgent need for surgery due to bleeding, a hole in the bowel, or blockage.
  • You have not had any prior chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, or surgery for this cancer.
  • You have not had major surgery or a significant injury in the last 28 days.
