Who can take part

  • You are at least 30 years old.
  • You have severe shortness of breath even with daily activities (NYHA class III or IV).
  • Your heart's pumping ability is normal or nearly normal (ejection fraction 50% or higher).
  • You have been hospitalized for heart failure in the past, or have high NT-proBNP levels, or have signs of diastolic dysfunction on echo, or take diuretics for heart failure.
  • A recent heart catheterization shows high pressure inside your heart when resting or exercising.
  • You can walk on your own (not wheelchair-bound) and complete a 6-minute walk test.
