Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your heart's main pumping chamber is working at least 40% of normal (mild or no weakness).
  • You need a pacemaker because your heart's electrical signal is blocked (high-degree AV block) and you'll likely need pacing more than 80% of the time.
  • Your doctor expects you to live at least one more year and you agree to follow the study plan.
  • You do not already need a defibrillator (ICD) or a special heart resynchronization device (CRT).
