Who can take part

  • You are between 6 and 60 years old.
  • Your epilepsy does not get better with medications (drug-resistant epilepsy).
  • You have at least 2 seizures each month that affect your daily life.
  • You do not have any metal implants in your head (except a stable vagal nerve stimulator).
  • You do not have other serious health problems like bleeding disorders, severe depression, dementia, or a progressive brain disease.

Low-intensity ultrasound for drug-resistant temporal lobe seizures

This pilot study tests whether low-intensity focused ultrasound can reduce seizures in adults whose temporal lobe epilepsy hasn’t improved with at least two anti-seizure medicines. You may be asked to track seizure timing and undergo brain imaging before and during the study.
