  • You are about to have your first total knee replacement (not a second replacement).
  • Your surgeon plans to use a 'kinematic alignment' method (a way to place the knee parts for better motion).
  • You are willing to be randomly assigned to either robotic surgery or a surgery with a hand-held tool (caliper).
  • You have had the needed x-rays or scans before surgery.
