VR and script training for aphasia after stroke

This study tests whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset and practicing communication scripts can help people with aphasia (trouble speaking or understanding language after a stroke) improve their everyday conversations. It is for Cantonese speakers who are at least 6 months past their stroke.

Who can take part

  • You had a stroke at least 6 months ago and have some trouble with language (aphasia) after the stroke.
  • You speak Cantonese fluently and used it before your stroke.
  • You are between 30 and 80 years old.
  • You don't have other brain conditions that are getting worse, like dementia or Parkinson's.
  • You can hear and see well enough (glasses or hearing aids are okay).
  • You don't get very sick or dizzy when using a VR headset.
