Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have mild to moderate ulcerative colitis diagnosed for at least 3 months with active symptoms like rectal bleeding and inflammation seen on a colonoscopy.
  • Your colitis extends beyond the rectum (more than 15 cm from the anus).
  • You have tried standard treatment (5-ASA) and it didn't work well enough or caused side effects.
  • You can avoid certain medicines like steroids, antibiotics, anti-diarrhea drugs, probiotics, and biologics for a period before starting the study.
