  • You are between 30 and 65 years old
  • You are generally healthy without serious conditions like heart disease, stroke, or arthritis
  • You have less than 6 months of prior strength training experience
  • You are not taking medications that affect muscle strength (e.g., steroids, certain blood pressure drugs)
  • If you are a woman, you are not pregnant and it's been more than 3 months since childbirth
