Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 85 years old.
- You have had a mitral valve repair with a ring (and possibly other minor heart repairs at the same time).
- Your heart had a normal rhythm before surgery, or if you had atrial fibrillation, your stroke risk score is very low or your rhythm was corrected during surgery.
- You are not at high risk for bleeding (no recent bleeding, low blood counts, or ulcers).
- You have not had a heart attack in the last month or a stroke in the last 3 months, and you do not have severe kidney or liver disease, or active cancer.
