If you are a first-time bypass patient and do not have certain heart or organ conditions, you may be able to participate and help improve surgical training tools.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are having a specific type of heart bypass surgery (mammary artery to left anterior descending artery).
  • This is your first time having heart bypass surgery.
  • You do not have a current heart attack or unstable angina (acute coronary syndrome).
  • You can safely undergo a CT scan or angiogram of your heart arteries.
  • You do not have severe kidney problems or active liver disease.
