Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have fluid buildup around one lung that wasn't explained by simpler tests.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to the study.
  • You do not have very low oxygen levels (PaO2/FiO2 < 300).
  • You do not have uncontrolled bleeding, unstable heart condition, or severe heart failure.
  • You are not completely bedridden and unable to care for yourself.
