Who can take part

  • Your child must weigh more than 2.5 kg (about 5.5 pounds).
  • Your child's oxygen level in the blood must have been above 80% before surgery.
  • The planned surgery must be a biventricular repair that uses a heart-lung machine.
  • Your child cannot have a functional single ventricle or certain heart structure issues.
  • Your child cannot have serious disease of the liver, kidneys, lungs, or brain.
