Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are either a critically ill patient starting certain antibiotics in the last 3 days, a critically ill patient without recent antibiotics who will likely stay in the ICU for more than 3 days, or a long-term survivor of sepsis from a previous study.
- You do not have inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis).
- You have not had a major bowel resection (removal of a large part of the intestines).
- You are not immunocompromised (weakened immune system).
