Mindfulness program for students with depression

This study tests an 8-week mindfulness program (MBCT) designed to help undergraduate students with mild to moderate depression. If you're a student at Universidad de los Andes, 18 or older, and have some symptoms of depression (but not severe), this program could teach you skills to feel better.

Who can take part
- You must be an undergraduate student at Universidad de los Andes
- You are 18 years or older
- You can read and speak Spanish
- Your depression score (PHQ-9) is 0 to 14 (mild to moderately severe) and you don't have severe depression (15 or more)
- You are not currently thinking about suicide (assessed with a safety questionnaire)
- You are not in treatment for a severe mental illness like psychosis or substance abuse, and haven't been in the hospital for a psychiatric condition in the last 2 years
- You have not taken a mindfulness course before (like MBCT, MBSR, or MMB)
- You have no history of sexual abuse (the study excludes people who have experienced this)
- You can attend one 90-minute group session each week for 8 weeks, and practice mindfulness at home for at least 15 minutes daily
