Who can take part
- You must be 15 years or older with a specific type of CML that has entered blast phase, meaning more than 20% of your bone marrow or blood cells are immature.
- You must be able to perform daily activities with little help (ECOG score 0–2).
- Your liver, kidney, heart, and pancreas function must be within safe limits as tested by blood work and an echocardiogram.
- You must not have received other cancer treatments for this blast phase, except for certain limited therapies like a single targeted drug or hydroxyurea.
- You must not have serious heart problems, uncontrolled infections, HIV, past pancreatitis, or poorly managed diabetes.
