Who can take part
- Your rectal cancer has returned in the pelvis and doctors say it cannot be fully removed with surgery.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- Your tumor type is called pMMR or MSS (a lab test shows this).
- You have not had radiation before, or if you did, it was at least 6 months ago and the dose was below 50.4 Gy.
- You are in good overall health (ECOG 0 or 1) and your blood counts, liver, and kidney function are within certain limits.
- You have no other active cancer, no serious heart or lung problems, and are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
