Who can take part

  • You are scheduled to have coronary artery bypass graft surgery
  • You can sign a consent form
  • Your kidneys work well enough (eGFR above 30, and you are not on dialysis)
  • Your heart pumps at least 40% of blood out with each beat (ejection fraction 40% or higher)
  • You have never had atrial fibrillation before
  • You are not pregnant
  • You are not having any other heart valve surgery at the same time
