  • You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) brain surgery.
  • Your health status is classified as ASA I, II, or III (relatively healthy or with mild to moderate disease).
  • You do not have a known condition of high pressure inside the skull (intracranial hypertension).
  • You do not have severe lung disease such as asthma or COPD.
