  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You can make your own medical decisions.
  • You are having brain surgery that uses special medication to reduce swelling, or
  • You get regular spinal taps (lumbar punctures) as part of your care, or
  • You have a VP shunt (a tube in your brain) that needs its drainage settings changed.
