Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with beta-thalassemia (or hemoglobin E/beta-thalassemia) and do not need regular blood transfusions
- Your hemoglobin level is between 70 and 100 g/L (a measure of red blood cells)
- You have too much iron in your body (iron overload) at the screening visit
- You are generally able to do daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1)
