Who can take part

  • You must have a diagnosis of lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (a blood disorder) or clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (a condition with low blood counts).
  • You must be willing and able to exercise (not doing regular exercise now).
  • You must not have had chemotherapy, radiation, or immune-suppressing treatment in the last year.
  • You cannot be taking metformin or certain blood pressure medicines that affect exercise.
  • Your hemoglobin level must be at least 5.5 mmol (or 6.5 mmol if you have heart issues or a pacemaker).
  • You must not need frequent blood transfusions (more than 8 units in 16 weeks).
