Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and expected to live at least another year.
- You have pain in your leg even at rest, or have sores or gangrene on your foot or toes (Rutherford category 4 or 5).
- The blockage is a single, new narrowing in a lower leg artery below the knee, between 5 and 30 cm long, and the artery beyond it is clear.
- You are able to have angiography (X-ray of your arteries) and the procedure done through a catheter.
- You have not had a heart attack or stroke in the last 60 days, and do not have advanced kidney disease (on dialysis or creatinine >2.5).
